A semantic industry conference for Europe: ESTC 2007 ----------------------------------------------------
As this newsletter reaches you, the final preparations are being made for the 1st European Semantic Technology Conference (ESTC). ESTC is intended to be a new European meeting ground for customers, developers and researchers to discuss the applicability and commercialization of Semantic technologies in corporate settings.
As part of this, Knowledge Web - as a network with the aim to promote migration of Semantic technology from research to industry - is involved. Knowledge Web will host a technology showcase and workshop highlighting the commercial possibilities of Semantic technologies. We would be glad to see you here and receive your input! SPOTLIGHT

ESTC 2007 --------------------
ESTC2007 will be held May 31 - June 1 2007 at Vienna, Austria.
The full programme is now available, with a clear focus on discussing the business value of real world applications of Semantic Technologies. The Knowledge Web network is organizing two workshops on May 31 to better understand how to benefit Business from Semantic Technologies: "Semantic Web Technology Showcase" (http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~blacoe/ESTC/KWeb_ESTC_WS.html) and "Making Semantics Work for Business" (http://www.ag-nbi.de/conf/MSWFB)
* ESTC2007 announces the Semantic Technology Business Idea Contest
------------------------------------------------------------------ ESTC2007 set up the Contest for the best Semantic Technology Business Idea with the aim of encouraging and accelerating the commercialisation of semantic technology. At the evening, the Jury (Keynote Speakers of the Conference) will announce the winner of the Contest. Individuals and teams are invited to submit their ideas for commercial exploitation of new and innovative applications based on semantic technologies.
Prizes: 1st €2500 / 2nd €1000 / 3rd €500
