Abstract: The goal of the research visit was to bring together complementary expertise in knowledge representation (Amsterdam) and information sharing infrastructures (Hannover), to identify synergies between the two fields and discuss joint work on combining these two technologie sin the context of the KnowledgeWeb workplan. Activities: - Setting up a research agenda on distributed knowledge representation in a peer-to-peer environment. - Categorization of P2P Systems with special attention to the use of ontologies and meta data - Initial investigations on the use of approximate reasoning for query relaxation in personalized systems Follow-Up activities: 1. Research visit of Wolf Siberski at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Feb/March 2005) 2. Research Visit of Peter Dolog at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (September 2005)
