Task 1 Growth of the industrial board

The Industry Board is the key component of the potential successful transfer of technology toward the IT industry, but is also a key component for giving priorities to the research agenda. So, a particular and continuous attention should be given to contact and to contract with new members. To that end during the first year of the JPA KW WP 1.1 has developed and is currently using 2 instruments, first an "Invitation letter" which shows the benefits of being a KB member and second an "Early Access Policy" that defines the rights and duties of the IB members.
The board is an informal working group representative of a “laboratorial” market oriented where the Knowledge Web partners can study industrial requirements test the industrial value of their ideas and collect inspiration for new research opportunities. The board will hold periodical meetings but, in the main, it acts to establish point-to-point relationships between researchers and practitioners in order to enable cooperation and partnerships for joint effort towards technology adoption and research agenda priorities.
